School of the Week
Each field trip season Busy Barns Farm recognizes a school each week. While visiting the farm the selected “School of the Week” must demonstrate exemplary listening skills, a desire to respond to agricultural questions presented by our certified on-farm educators, participation in the outdoor classroom activities and enthusiasm to learn agriculture.
The selected schools received a $20 gift card to Nasco for teacher supplies and the agricultural education book Pigs and Pork in the Story of Agriculture to add to their schools library, along with a certificate. The book presented was tied to Busy Barns on-farm lesson plan and the 2011 fall season curriculum "Swine are Divine".
